As a four-time CCIW Conference Champion, he was named the CCIW Most Outstanding Wrestler in 1992, 1993, and 1994, helping the team to four consecutive Conference Championships. He ended up retiring from Waubonsie in 1995. In Track, she won nine Conference Titles, impressively winning both the 1600 Run and 3200 Run all four years, setting Conference records in both events. The IHSA implemented Regional Tournaments during the 2014 season, and to no surprise, the Warriors brought the championship back to the 'Original Valley. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he earned All-Conference honors in the CCIW and was a Division III NCAA National Meet qualifier in the 400 Meter Hurdles. In addition to all of Javier's individual accomplishments, his teams were also very successful, in 1993 and 1994 Waubonsie Valley placed second at the IHSA Wrestling State Tournament and brought back the first two state wrestling trophies in school history!
